The Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States in North Carolina and South Carolina. It catches its prey with a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant's leaves, which is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces.

To ensure vigorous growth during the growing season, it is recommended to grow your flytrap outside in full sun, providing it with 6 or more hours of direct sunlight.

When growing Venus flytrap seeds, it is important to use a soil mixture of perlite, silica sand, and peat moss. Sow the seeds directly on the surface without burying them, and plant them in a well-ventilated container with a lid.
